Charleston, SC – June 1, 2026 – The South Carolina Emerging Tech Association (SCETA) today launched a nonpartisan survey inviting all 2026 Republican and Democratic gubernatorial candidates to share

their positions on key emerging technology issues facing South Carolina.

The survey focuses on critical areas including artificial intelligence, fintech, blockchain and digital assets, data centers, compute infrastructure, and pro-innovation economic development policies. SCETA is requesting responses from candidates by close of business on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

“South Carolina’s next governor will play a pivotal role in shaping our state’s competitiveness in the innovation economy,” said Dennis Fassuliotis, President of SCETA. “This survey gives candidates an opportunity to directly address the tech community and outline their vision for responsible growth in emerging technologies.”

The results of the survey will be shared with SCETA members, technology professionals, and the public to promote greater transparency on technology policy positions ahead of the 2026 election.

All major party candidates have been invited to participate.
